Embracing the Beauty

Welcome to Friday, November 10th which is a 4 in Numerology.

Four is the number of fate. Many things we have no control over. I believe we make a contract with ourselves before we come down here and we mandate what we are going to accomplish, so no matter what you do in your life you will always end up with the ‘option’ to follow your fate.

I look at the number of times I’ve been hit by cars. Yes, there have been more than a few. After a while, I started recognizing a pattern. It seemed that my stubbornness would not listen to my higher self so the Universe would make me. Lucky Me! It seems rash, but believe me… there are no coincidences. Each and every time this has happened my life has taken a 180.

Today’s card is: Walking in Beauty.

Have you ever heard the phrase, “No matter where you go, there you are.”?

You might think that being in a certain demographic or geographic area will be better for you, that it will make you feel more ‘zen’, but until you embrace that feeling (Zen) inside of yourself, no matter where you go, your mind will still be in that headspace of looking outside of yourself. Basically, it doesn’t matter where you go because your issues will follow you.

So walk in the beauty that is inside of you first. Embrace yourself first and you will start to notice the beauty that surrounds your immediate area. Then it won’t matter where you are because your headspace has changed. And what a beautiful feeling that is!

As a new friend recently said to me, “It’s easy to sit on a yoga mat and meditate on the beach in Santa Monica. Try doing that on the strip in Las Vegas. You’ll quickly realize how Zen you really are.”

Our Pain is Self-Chosen

Welcome to Thursday, November 9th which is a 3 in Numerology.

The 3 signifies; Youthfulness, Bravery, Passion, and Manifestation. Coupled with today’s card, Meadow, it speaks of vulnerability.

A lot of us sacrifice youthfulness, bravery, passion, and manifestation because of not being able to be vulnerable. Getting out of your box is being vulnerable. Taking risks is vulnerable. Loving someone with all of your heart and soul is vulnerable.

Why aren’t we, or why don’t we allow ourselves to be vulnerable?

We don’t allow ourselves to be vulnerable because the first time we were afraid, naked, unfamiliar, alone… we were scared. Every parent says it to their children when they cry, it’s natural for a Mom to tell her son, “Don’t be afraid. I’m here.” And when that parent isn’t there and they are afraid, that is when the wall goes up. Protecting ourselves because we can’t trust anybody else to take care of us now in this big lonely world.

Being vulnerable, as we grow older… it gets instilled into our deepest subconscious, and after a while, we don’t even know why we are the way we are.

So what would it look like to be vulnerable?

To be vulnerable you need to trust. Yes, trust in your own instincts… but make sure they are your instincts and not something programmed into you. To be vulnerable is to allow it all to flow. Allow yourself to release the reins and know that you are protected. Once you can do this your whole world will change. Change is the only constant.

Embrace it.

The Dragonfly

Welcome to Wednesday, November 8th which is an 11 in Numerology.

Are you ready to push your limitations beyond their perceived limits? If you are, today is for you. The 11 is the first of 3 Master Numbers. The 11 Master Number stands for faith, psychic abilities, capable of setting its goals in concrete, instinctual and charismatic.

An 11 day in an 11 month is powerful, it can equally be the opposite as well. Remember, the Yin and the Yang? Positive/Negative, Light/Dark, Happy/Sad… I could go on for ages but I think you get the idea. You can’t have one without the other. At least not in this 3rd dimension.

Again, today is a very powerful day. Focus on what you want, not on what you don’t want. If you know anything about the Law of Attraction, you know that thoughts are things, they are little manifesters. But if you are focusing on something you don’t want then that is what you will manifest. If you are unfamiliar with the Law of Attraction I would suggest the movie, ‘The Secret’ as a good beginner course and then you can go down the rabbit hole once you understand the foundation of it all.

So what does this have to do with the Dragonfly on today’s card?

The Dragonfly can gestate for up to 4 years. Yes, 4 years! And when it finally comes out of its ‘shell’ (metaphorically speaking), it is beauty, it’s coloring changing… it is just ‘be’ing. We too are in a gestation period. Some of us have been sleeping for a long time, but there has been a voice in your head to ‘come on out and play’.

That time is now.

Your time is now.

Moccasins

Welcome to Tuesday, November 7th which is a 1 in Numerology. The 1 signifies new beginnings, starting a new project, or if you are in one, changing your mindset.

It’s always good to look at yourself in the 3rd person perspective. It’s difficult to do, but it can be done. A good way to do this is to imagine you as them. Look at their situation… are they angry, tired, fed up? Try to feel why. Imagine they were abused as children, or they’ve made some bad business decisions, or someone close to them has died and they have shut down their heart. Can you have empathy for them?

There is an old poem by Mary T. Lathrap that ends with…

“Remember to walk a mile in his moccasins
And remember the lessons of humanity taught to you by your elders.
We will be known forever by the tracks we leave
In other people’s lives, our kindnesses and generosity.”

Once you can do this you can look in the mirror and do the same. You can look at yourself, listen to yourself, and see and hear yourself through someone else’s eyes and ears. Can you show empathy towards yourself? Can you recognize the similarities between you and others?

Again, as I stated above… it’s difficult to do, but it can be done.

Today, quiet your mind and listen to what spirit is trying to tell you. Write down your thoughts. And for Goddess sake already, get a Reiki Session from me. Get out of your own way and just surrender. You will thank yourself, you will start to forgive yourself, and you will finally be able to leave that heavy load that you’ve been carrying, behind.

Being of Service or Being taken advantage of?

Welcome to Monday, November 6th which is a 9 in Numerology

The 9 is the one in service, the one willing to sacrifice themselves for the higher cause, humility, duty, and leadership.

How many of you feel like you’re always being stepped on? Feeling depressed because you aren’t able to be your true authentic self? A good amount of this is from low self-esteem. Not feeling that we are good enough to shine our light and that the people that give us advice know more than we do.

Is it possible that you are wrong?

Is it possible that you are even more powerful than you think you are and that those around you that give you advice are actually afraid of you and your gifts? I’m not telling you to give yourself a false perception of yourself, boosting your ego and becoming a pompous ass. I’m telling you to give yourself a break and recognize your gifts.

A lot of lightworkers I know are like this (as I look in the mirror myself, giving that half-raised eyebrow). Deep down inside we know who we are and what our gifts are but because of our past, we don’t trust ourselves and our own gut feelings. We rely on people telling us what they think of us… and sometimes it’s not good. If there is one thing that I’ve learned, it is this; People who tell you not to shine only tell you this because they have tried to shine themselves and have either failed or given up. Never give up.

‘Coming out of the Closet’ isn’t just about being gay and telling the world that you are… although it is a very similar feeling, having gay friends who have confided their struggles with me. Telling the world who you really are is VERY scary. What will people think? Will they turn their backs on you? Will your family disown you? When it comes right down to it when you come out of your shell and finally start living your authentic life you will be surrounded by people who have your back because they too are coming out of their shell. I’ve found this kind of camaraderie in the theater, as well as with other touring musicians. They know how to stick together and watch their tribes back. It’s a very comforting feeling. It puts you in a different atmosphere of love and respect and allows you to shine.

So… go find your tribe.

Welcome to Sunday, November 5th which is an 8 in Numerology.

If you look at the physical 8 and flip it sideways you will see the infinity symbol. Everything is connected and revolves around each other. The 8 is the great equalizer and is also associated with Career and Finances.

Ganesh is the best known and loved deities in the Hindu pantheon of gods. Ganesh symbolizes overcoming obstacles. When called upon, it is believed that this god clears your path of any obstacles. Whether you believe in these deities or not is not of significance… they are symbols that teach us. In our physical plane, the Elephant is wise and remembers everything.

Whatever you seem to be going through at the moment, know that change is happening. I know I talk a lot about change. I talk about it because it is important. Some of us out there feel so hopeless that we don’t think our lives will ever change, that this is all there is. If we get in this mindset that change is not possible, then we will be fulfilling this prophecy.

Instead of feeling hopeless, look at each obstacle as the universe giving us hints. What do we need to change to make our situation work better for us?

If it is finances, look at your results. Is what you are doing right now earning you your worth? A good way to assess this is to look at your income. If you are a business owner, money is a great indicator of our results. If we’re barely scraping by, why? Do we have the perception that money is bad? That it’s evil? If so, maybe change that thought pattern to… “If I had a 6 figure income I could give 10% of my earnings and help those around me that are scraping by, as I once was.” You can do this with your Career or Relationships as well. Get real with yourself. It might be painful but the future results will pay off.

There is always a positive with every negative. This is the Yin and the Yang.

Welcome to Full Moon Friday! Today is the 3rd and it’s a 7 in Numerology. The 7 is the thinker, the prophet, the scientist.

There are aspects of the 7 that I can align with. One of them is not taking things at face value. Today, don’t take anything at face value. Some might mesmerize you with their charm but have their own agenda. Instead of seeking something bigger and better, be grateful for the company that you are now keeping.

Start today with the sentence, “I am grateful for…”, and then you will see this desart wild become a garden mild.
