New Beginnings

“And suddenly you know. It’s time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings.” ~ Meister Eckhart

Ever since I was a little boy I would peruse book stores. I would feel the books and see which one would speak to me. I would find the book, open it and read the paragraph there in front of my eyes. I don’t do this as often as I used to seeing as there are very few book stores that aren’t generic like Barnes and Noble or Borders. I like the Mom and Pop shops. I like used books. Used books have character. They have history. I imagine that some of these books were in great libraries purchased by interesting people or in the back pocket of a soon to be famous author.

What is my point?

My point is this… Energy is still energy. It can come from a book, or an email.
From time to time spirit still speaks to me and gives me the answers to the questions that I ask for guidance from. Let me rephrase that… Spirit always talks to me; I just don’t listen at times. When we don’t listen to spirit, or our inner selves, our gut, and we compromise ourselves we become depressed, stifled and angry. When we do listen and move past the fear (False Evidence Appearing Real) magic happens and new possibilities are available for us.

This morning’s message was clear and in my face. Today I choose to listen and may it be clear for you to listen as well. Whatever it is that speaks to you.

“And suddenly you know. It’s time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings.” ~ Meister Eckhart

And because change is always constant, I am looking for a new band to front. I made a difficult choice leaving my last project, especially with a new album coming out. We made some great music and opened for some amazing national acts, but its time had run its short course.

I am looking for something preferably with Management, Publishing, etc. They can listen to me on my main website (here) or these other sites.

Thank you!

SF Bay Area Metallers KILL RITUAL have announced the addition of drummer Koryun Bobikyan to the group’s ranks, who takes over for the recently departed Gee Anzalone (DragonForce).

KILL RITUAL Announces New Drummer

22 – The Master Builder

The Master Number 22 symbolizes the principle of precision and balance.  When it senses its full capacity as a ‘Master Builder’, it can achieve what is hardly imaginable.  The 22 can turn the most ambitious of dreams a reality.  It is potentially the most successful of all numbers.

Today Electric Messiah and myself head into the studio over at Count’s Desert Moon. Michael will be laying down the drums, the foundation of who we are, and the rest of us will be playing along live with him. Last night I had a dream that we did this all in one take. Each of us set up in our appropriate corners, me in a vocal booth, the most isolated of them all. We’ve done these songs live only a dozen times but each time we do them we form them into what they really should be. Today will be that day where they become history. For everyone that has watched and waited for this for the past year it is now time to release that breath and breathe a sigh of relief and accomplishment that they have all been a part of this growth.

My Facebook Challenge

As I head into the studio today I’ve also decided to check out of facebook. As much as I love chatting with everyone around the world I also find it exhausting. I miss the interaction of the flesh and bone. I miss sitting around a fire and talking about life, dreams, goals. I find a difference in telling people face to face about things without them reading it on facebook. Facebook is a great tool, but that is all it is. It is a tool. A tool to relay information so that when you do see these people you can elaborate on that information. The Catch 22 (There’s that power number again) is that it is a great tool to bring people closer, especially if your family is on the other side of the country. The flip side of that is getting caught up in unnecessary drama. Something I can do without in my life. I leave those ‘drama queens’ with love and light that they might someday look in the mirror and realize that they are what they create. And I do mean this with every heartfelt intention towards them. We all know that we have played the ‘drama queen’ and victim in our lives. It’s part of growing. The Ying and the Yang.

There is enough technology in this world to still reach me. Shoot me an email or text or even call for that matter.

Please continue following my blog. I promise this isn’t a goodbye. This is more of a ‘Hello. I’m Dave and this is who I really am.’

Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS

I got challenged to do the Ice Bucket Challenge by my friend in Canada, Jay Rouanzoin. Taylor enjoyed pouring Ice Cold Water over my head… to tell you the truth though. In the Nevada desert it felt fantastic!

Please donate to ALSA.org

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease,” is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death. When the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to initiate and control muscle movement is lost. With voluntary muscle action progressively affected, patients in the later stages of the disease may become totally paralyzed.

Reiki

I’ve been doing Reiki now for the last couple of years. At first I wasn’t that confident with it. The Doubting Thomas in myself was huge. Once I moved up to Level II my hands started tingling, that feeling when you sit on your hands for awhile. Even the mention of Reiki now had my hands tingling.

Still the doubts.

But after working on several people and seeing the results, as well as them feeling the results… I’m talking long term results, not just…. “Oh Wow I feel great right now.”, I mean long time. I still keep in contact with these people to check in with them.

So now its evident to me that Reiki does in fact work. And with that being said, I am ready to move up to the next level.

Reiki Master.

I’m looking for someone in the Las Vegas area that can give me an attunement. If you are that person or you know a person, please shoot me an email.

Meeting an Idol

Being a Rock Vocalist I’m used to being on stage and meeting Rock Stars, but when I met Aerosmith this past weekend I was at a loss for words. Aerosmith and I share a lot of history. They aren’t aware of it, and I’m sure thousands upon thousands of people can say the same thing. It’s deep and its personal.

Coming from New England I remember first hearing this band from Boston. Hard edged. Hard Driving. They were like the Red Sox. No matter how many times they fell to their knees, broke up, rehab, etc…. we were always there to cheer them on. They were our boys. And now, like the Red Sox, they are on top and everyone is a fan. Worldwide.

Steven Tyler is the coolest human being I have ever met. It doesn’t matter his age. His soul is young and still vibrant. Two hours he went crazy on stage and I sang every word with him. How he does it, I don’t know. I was doing vocal warm-ups this morning and my voice is still a bit raw.

So, not only did I meet Aerosmith this weekend, the night before my band Electric Messiah opened up for LA Guns. We had an amazing show and will have videos and pictures to follow soon.

In the meantime, here are a few pics of this epic weekend.

Namaste,
David
