I've been singing since I could remember. I started out singing in Choir at church, and performing musical theater in grade school, then high school. In my high school year book it is stated that I was willing to sacrifice myself for the theater, having been stabbed [for real] in the play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. Long story. In 1970, Jesus Christ Superstar premiered. I heard Ian Gillan's voice and that was it. I had never heard a rock singer perform in a theater production and it just hit me... that is what I want to do. Years later I would be the understudy for Jesus in said play, playing Simon throughout the production. I'm kind of a late bloomer. I never sang for a rock band until I was about 23 years old. When I finished high school I immediately joined the Marines and was planning on it being a long term commitment. As fate would have it though, I got a medical discharge on my second enlistment. I got hit by a car. Another long story. Seems to be a pattern with me. So now it has been many years, many recordings, many bands and hundreds of live shows. I've honed my voice pretty well I must say. I have been blessed to have worked with some amazing musicians from across the globe, as you will hear on my ReverbNation page, with many more to come. Welcome to Friday, June 15th which is a 5 in Numerology.

Today’s card is the 6 of Wands. Victory.

Count your blessings.

We seem to strive for higher and higher peaks only to get to the next step and finding that there is more to do and even higher to go. We barely ever sit back to see where we have been and where we are now. Like it’s not good enough.

It’s ok to sit back, pat yourself on your back for your achievements. Like in dieting (which I don’t agree with. The first three letters spelling D-I-E), you have a cheat day. Consider today your cheat day. Let yourself bask in your own aura and recognize what you’ve accomplished. Have a party! Celebrate it! It’s ok to indulge yourself from time to time, even if you do it alone.

When is the last time you did this? Have you EVER done it? Why not? What goes through your head when I ask you to celebrate yourself? You don’t have to answer. I know because I’m human just like you. I guess the big question we all have is, “Who am I?”

Why don’t we feel like we are good enough?

Today’s energy of the 5 can be a bit scattered so try to focus on you today. Seriously… do this. You need to see how important you are.

Welcome to Thursday, June 14th  which is a 4 in Numerology.

Today’s card is the 10 of Disks. Wealth.

Once sufficient wealth, both inner spiritual and outer material, has been attained then the excess needs to be distributed otherwise it becomes stagnant and eventually corrupts and dissipates.

Notice that I said ‘sufficient wealth’. What does that mean? Does it mean to hoard everything that we can and those with the most toys wins? I think not. Sufficient wealth is enough to pay your bills, enough to go out and enough to have others over without feeling depleted. And as far as spiritually it means to make sure you’re not giving your power away to others when you don’t have enough for yourself.

I used to have the belief that if I gave everything away it would come back to me 10 fold. What I learned from this was that I realized I was giving in order to receive. I wasn’t giving for the sake of giving… it was a false hope that If I gave money, gave of my time, gave of my services, that I would be rewarded. Guess what? I wasn’t. I felt depleted.

You see… this is how it works… when you have all that you need you give freely to others without any other expectation than to see them prosper as you have, but when you give from an empty well you’re not doing anybody any good. You become the martyr, you become bitter and angry at those around you that are prosperous.

What can you do about this? Well, for starters… take care of yourself first and then once you are at the level to give, let it flow. Until then, focus on yourself. This does not mean to be greedy, or self-centered, it just means that in order for you to give you first must have something to give.

We’re Stars

Welcome to Wednesday, June 13th  which is a 3 in Numerology.

Today’s card is the 9 of Wands. Strength.

I chuckled when I got this card this morning because before I pulled it I was reading an email I got from the coordination team for the Ayahuasca journey I am taking at the end of the month. The email explains what we need to do 10 days prior to the journey. In a nutshell, it’s pretty much a raw diet. No alcohol, no pot, no sex, oh my! I was thinking, how am I going to do this? Ha! I’m joking of course… I can give up alcohol and pot. Doh!

What it takes is inner strength.

I have to break out the old Marine mantra that I used to sing while running,

“D-I-S-C-I-P-L-I-N-E”.

When confronted with any obstacle I usually say to myself, “I made it through Parris Island, I can make it through anything.”

Today is a good day for you to tap into that discipline as well. Tune into something that you accomplished and where proud of. How did you feel after accomplishing it? That is where you need to go today. It will take trusting yourself that you can do what you have done before. If you’re having a hard time, call a friend. Get someone to mentor you for a little while until you can overcome this obstacle and keep reminding yourself how you will feel in the end. You’ll be ready to take on the world!

KR Update (June 12, 2018)

Hey gang,
We’ve got a lot coming up here for the fall. We can’t let the cat out of the bag as of yet but we want to include you all so, if we could get you guys and gals to do a few things for us…
 
1. Private Message David pictures of one or more of us from a previous tour. Let us know your name and where and when you saw us.
 
2. PM David pictures of you with your Kill Ritual TShirt and/or CD and if you got them via a tour let us know the same info… where and when you saw us and your name.
 
3. We will be looking for more admins to manage our social media preferably those that know WordPress. Gin is great with the Facebook and Instagram so I want to give her a big shout out but we’re spreading her pretty thin so we want to get a few people to help her out.
 
4. We will be setting up our Kill Ritual Merch account this week. If you don’t have your 2018 North American Tour TShirts get them soon.

Surrender

Welcome to Tuesday, June 12th which is an 11 in Numerology.

Today’s card is the Hanged Man.

Take a deep breath and recognize who you are today. There is no need to go forward or backwards but to just focus on yourself. Study non-attachment to anything. The ego has a tendency to make us look for something outside of ourselves when in fact the answer is inside.

The Hanged Man is about surrender. That is not the same as giving up, don’t confuse the two. Surrender is saying that you’ve struggled in life, you feel as if you’ve done the right things, you’ve made mistakes, but you’ve always been searching for something bigger and better. Today, just for now, stop the search and welcome in the forces around you and know that good, or bad, you are still here.

When we surrender and stop searching we are saying inside that we have everything and that we trust what we want will come to us… not the other way around. The Law of Attraction states that what you focus on becomes your reality, so if you are focused on ‘not having’ that is what the universe will give you. Surrender and focus on ‘having’ everything.

Today’s 11 energy is a Master Number. It’s a day of wisdom and it is giving you the insight to look beyond the ordinary because the ordinary has not worked for you. You are a Human ‘Be’ing, not a Human ‘Do’ing.
