Today’s card is 8 of Cups

What are you giving yourself?

I ask this question because sometimes we fall into stagnation, laziness, or avoidance of activity. A lot of times when we do this we start to become a victim. We usually fall into this pattern because we’ve pushed so hard and we don’t see the fruits of our labor which leads us to throwing up our hands and just saying fuck it!

More times than not though the fruits of our labors haven’t come yet. If you have a goal and it seems like nothing is coming of it, what are you doing about it? Have you written out a plan? Are you moving towards your goal a little bit every day?

Years ago I went to a seminar called ‘Abundance and Prosperity’. In this class we wrote down where we wanted to be in 20 years and let me tell you… it’s easy to come up with lofty dreams when it’s 20 years away. But what happens when you take that 20 yr. plan and make it 10? What have you done by 10 years to make your 20 yr. goal? And then what happens when you take that 10 and make it 5? Then that 5 to 1? Then 1 yr. to 1 month!!! Oh shit! It seems like it is impossible but what you realize is that you have to take steps every single day and keep your eye on that prize.

Today’s energy is that of the 11. A Master Number. This energy is allowing you to see different situations from different angles today. It’s a supportive energy telling us that we will not receive what we are not giving to ourselves. Everything we can ever achieve must come from the inside and work its way out. Not the other way around.

Looking through a Glass Onion

Welcome to Monday, September 17th which is a 1 in Numerology.

Today’s card is 6 of Disks

The 6 of Disks is the Success card, or in the I Ching Hex 42 it’s increase. This past summer I think a lot of us have not been feeling so successful, but as life goes on we understand the Yin/Yang, the ebb and flow of it all. We know, like the old song says, “What goes up, must come down.” And vise/versa.

Did you know that scientists say that 90% of our universe is comprised of the unseen? I think we in society focus too much on the seen. What I mean by this is that when we are in lack we only see the physical aspects of that lack. We see the decrease in money, in friends, in our environment. But what of the 90% unseen? Those subconscious beliefs that we carry around with us that help perpetuate this physical lack?

When we focus on our subconscious beliefs, those beliefs that self-sabotage, the ones that we can’t really put our finger on yet… just knowing that they are there we can start peeling away the onion layers one by one until the underlying ‘lack’ surfaces. When it finally surfaces we have that ‘ah ha’ moment and that is when it all turns around for us.

Today’s vibration of the 1 is of new beginnings. Today you are gifted with new wisdom, you are crowned with success where you can now pioneer new thoughts about yourself and get rid of that old paradigm. If you need help peeling away the onion you know how to get in touch with me.

Be Yourself

Welcome to Sunday, September 16th which is a 9 in Numerology.

Today’s card is Strength

What are you strengths? Seriously, don’t discount them or brush them off. We all have strengths.

I grew up in New England and the way that New Englanders work, mostly within families, is to not boast. I’ve heard that word more times in my life than I can count. Standing out in a crowd is considered, well, rude. It’s considered showing off. I shouldn’t say that just because I’m from New England other areas of this country don’t have the same issues. From my extensive travels I have yet to find a whole town or state that allows this kind of freedom. Yes, smaller communities do encourage it. I.E.; Burning Man.

So… what would your life look like if you were encouraged to stand out? To be able to take your strengths and let them flourish? I mean, we all develop our strengths… ok, a few of us do… but we do it with that little voice in the background saying to us… “Don’t Boast.” It’s pretty debilitating at the very least.

Today’s energy of the 9 is that of finality, endings. Today I want you to take a stretch, and what I mean by that is I want you to step out of your box, say Fuck it, and just go for it. Who gives a shit what people think? Just for today… don’t give a shit of what it looks like, what people think of you, and how you may internally cringe. As Nike says, “Just do it.” And yes, I support Nike with their Kaepernick campaign because that was a person that defied the masses, regardless if you agree or not.

Dark Night of the Soul

Welcome to Saturday, September 15th which is an 8 in Numerology.

Today’s card is Peace.

One thing about the tarot that always rings true for me… somehow the energy in the card that I pick every morning is exactly what I need to hear. Today is no different. I told you that I was going through the dark night of the soul for the last few weeks… hell, possibly all summer. The heat here in Las Vegas can really drag you down, especially if you’re an outdoors person like myself. Well, yesterday the heat finally broke, I drove with the top down in the Miata for the first time in several months and felt the cool night air as I went to go sing with some friends. It was refreshing.

One thing I noticed this morning that I didn’t notice last night, especially after pulling this card was that there were a few people there last night that I shy away from but last night I barely even noticed that they were there… no conflict.

When we create conflict that is just our shadow self-mirroring itself. And that is probably the most debilitating thing… noticing parts of yourself that you don’t like. When you finally let go of it you have released that part in you that you don’t like. But when you hang on to old stuff you are still holding on to something within yourself that you don’t like.

Pretty easy.

With today’s energy of the 8 it is telling us that we have the freedom to change, that we have the power to create peace within ourselves… because that is what all conflict is anyway. It’s our own insecurities mirroring the real problem!

Welcome to Friday, September 14th which is a 7 in Numerology.

Today’s card is the Lovers

When people see this card they automatically think of finding a new love, and if you are single, that might be the case, but not always. It might mean rekindling a love, a passion, that you have for something and if you are in a relationship then it could mean for you to rekindle that love, look at it a bit differently, maybe not try to control it?

For me the meaning is a bit deeper… I’m talking about the love for self because when it comes down to it, if you don’t love yourself there is no way you can love someone else or anything else. Nothing will ever be good enough. I’ve told you that the last several days I’ve been going through my own personal dark night of the soul. I’ve had to rekindle my relationship with myself, peeling the onion layer back even further. If I ever have had a problem with my spiritual path it’s the fact that once you’ve opened your eyes it never stops. It’s an ongoing process of learning.

Once we drop the façade of what something is supposed to look like we can open our eyes to new possibilities. What part of your relationship with yourself do you expect it to look like? When will you decide to just let everything around you flow and become something that you possibly never thought of?

I’ll use the analogy of cycling when I take clients out. I’ll tell them to not death grip the handle bars, hold them loosely in their hands and let the bicycle flow on its own. When you try to control it’s every movement… that’s when you crash.

Welcome to Thursday, September 13th which is a 33 in Numerology.

Today’s card is the Princess of Cups

Unhappiness is the hunger pain for change. Joy – it’s constant companion.

When the Princess of Cups card pops up we’ve most likely hit a time in our lives where the doldrums have set it. It seems that maybe life is at a standstill and you feel yourself a failure? I heard this quote the other day and it kind of stuck with me; “If you never fail you will always succeed.”

What the hell does that mean Dave? Well, I’ll tell you. Life ebbs and flows… if you’ve listened to me for a while you’ve heard me say that. When we are down we need to be in it. We need to really feel it, recognize it, and then move on. It’s really easy to get caught up thinking that life is going to be like this forever and what the hell am I living for… I get it, I’m there now, but in this recognition… like the Princess of Cups, the Dreamer, she is telling us to aim high and intrinsically “know” that things are only temporary and that as soon as we start dreaming again we start to make a shift into our higher self. When I’m down, depressed, and frantic you don’t want to be around me, ask my partner. But when I get like this I sleep a lot, I dream, I meditate, and within a few days or so life starts to look hopeful again.

Today’s vibration of the 33, the Master Number, the teacher of teachers, the Master of Healing energies… use this today to go deep within yourself or allow yourself to reach out for help.

Invisible Sun

Welcome to Wednesday, September 12th which is a 5 in Numerology.

Today’s card is the Star

The I Ching Hex 30 says this…

“When you can appreciate nature’s power to break through all barriers, you will discover that this same power is inside of you.”

Clarity. Inside of us all is an invisible Sun. If it was visible all of the time we would not know what clarity is. Meaning, our darkness must come out so that we can see our light. The Yin/Yang of life. So, when we do go into the darkness… allow it. Accept it. Embrace it for what it is and then let it go. Sometimes we have to go through the dark night of the soul so that we can find true clarity. We need to slump down in hell so that we get a deeper perspective of who we are and why we are here.

Remember yesterday’s card and what was written? We asked the question, “Where do I go?” If you were in hell, like I was for the past few days, you went inside of yourself, you meditated, you consoled close friends, and you realized the commonality within those friends. You realized that even when you are in the deepest, darkest place. You are not alone. You never have been.

With today’s energy of the 5 signifies the need for change, because change is the only constant.
