Leggo my Ego

Welcome to Thursday, December 7th which is an11 in Numerology.

First and foremost, I would like to apologize for not doing a card yesterday. I actually did do one but it was so deeply personal I had to spend the day going within myself to figure it out.

Today, the 11, the Master Number in Numerology combined with today’s card, The Wheel of Fortune, is telling us that we can do this! The Wheel of Fortune is telling us to look at ourselves in the 3rd person while the 11 is telling us to go within, tap into our psychic abilities. This seems like an odd polarity, doesn’t it?

Going within ourselves is difficult. It’s painful. Looking in the mirror is probably one of the most difficult things we can do. Looking within ourselves means that there is no more blame put upon others and that everything that happens in our life is our responsibility. If we are spiritual beings having a human experience, then we can not be the victim. It’s impossible. We created all that is around us.

If we look at our lives in the 3rd person we can step out of our ego personality and make more loving judgments. More loving judgments for ourselves. Because every egoic character of having to be first, or having to have the last word in, are all stemmed from our inner child wanting to be loved. They are all attachments.

“How is dropping your laptop in the water the same as buying a 50k oil painting at a yard sale for $10? They are simply two different events in a string of events, and our attachment to outcomes, our expectations, and desires for life to unfold in a certain way, make one good fortune and another bad.

Today’s song is; I want to be adored by The Stone Roses.

“I don’t have to sell my soul, he’s already in me.”

Shin’en (Monkey Mind)

Welcome to Tuesday, December 5th which is a 9 in Numerology.

Today we are asked to leave all fear behind us, to look at the bigger picture. We are asked to raise up our artistic values above all else and go forth with confidence. Self-Confidence has always been a struggle for me, so I repeat this mantra…

“Oh-what-the-fuck-do-it-anyway.”

We’ve seen hero’s in movies do it, saying, “This is going to hurt,” as they leap off of a cliff. It’s making that snap judgment decision before you can even think about it and before you will allow yourself to back off and quit.

As the card states; Virtue, Integrity, and Self-Confidence are the preconditions to channeling or tapping into that energy. Think of fear as a roadblock to your success. How many times in your life have you crossed over a roadblock only to find that it really wasn’t as bad as you made it up to be? Our ego (self-image) is only one part of us, but all too often we let that part take control.

Here is another simple tool I use; I look at my ego as a smaller version of me sitting on my shoulder, cowering. What I do when it tells me to hide or run away, I pacify it by thanking it for watching out for me and then I let it know that I’m ok. It seems silly, but sometimes we need these tools to keep our ego in check, to remind us again, that this is just a small part of us. This allows me to go ahead, to move forward into the unknown, knowing that fear is just something I’ve made up (False Evidence Appearing Real).

Today’s song is; Monkey Mind by DNA.

“You’ve got the shin’en disease. You’re not the only one it seems. This mental chatter, it seems, has got you down.”

My Tribe

Welcome to Monday, December 4th which is an 8 in Numerology.

Today’s number, the 8 has the vibration of overcoming adversity, of gaining wisdom. Even the number itself is two circles intertwined. Solid and ever flowing.

Today’s card is the 6 of Disks. At the top, it reads Success. It is showing a group of people on top of a pyramid of disks while below are broken walls of a city. Take the 8 vibration and the 6 of Disks and it is telling us that to be successful and overcome adversity is best done with your tribe. When we are with a group of like-minded people we gain strength and wisdom. Trying to do this all alone is hard. Being with your tribe does not mean to become a sheep and just follow. With the right tribe, we are all leaders.

When tribes get together they invoke change. We saw the best parts of a tribe during the hippie movement of the 60’s and 70’s. The civil rights movement, etc. I see a correlation between those times and today. As I was mentioning to a friend… yes, there is a lot of hate out there, but there is also an equal amount of love, you just have to look for it.

Today, get back with your tribe. Your tribe might be your family; it might be a spiritual group or church. Stick with the people that empower you and purge yourself of that which doesn’t empower you. I’m not talking about just getting with a group of people that align with your fears. You want to get with people that challenge you to be a better person, a person that gives of themselves and therefore empowers themselves.

We will never have externally what we are not internally.

Today’s song is; Get Together by The Youngbloods.

“You hold the key to love and fear all in your trembling hand. Just one key unlocks them both, it’s there at your command.”

God Fodder

Welcome to Sunday, December 3rd which is a 7 in Numerology.

The seven is the seeker of truth and with today’s card, The Hermit, it is once again a day to go inward. I think it’s a perfect day for this, a Sunday, which throughout history has been the day of rest, the day to be thankful for the things and people that are in our lives and to give praise to that which has created us.

Go within, start peeling the onion layers back and get to the root of who you are. The only way we can do this is to be alone, to isolate our thoughts. We can’t do this by being on the computer or talking on our cell phones. Leave those at home and take a walk up a mountain or by a river or ocean. I feel for today’s society and all of the technology. It has weakened our minds having all of this instantaneous information at our fingertips. It has made our minds race with unnecessary thoughts. When was the last time you escaped it all? What are you afraid of?

When I was young I remember hiking up mountains and sitting at the top. No distractions other than the birds and some scurrying chipmunks. I would sit up there and just watch the clouds for hours on end, feeling the sun on my body. There were no phones to distract me, nor computers. I could sit up there and daydream.

We once thought that being connected as we are today that it would serve us, but I think it has just distracted us.

So, for today… turn off the phone. Turn off the computer. Turn it all off and see what transpires. There might be thoughts that scare you, old thoughts, but there also might be brilliant ‘ah ha’ moments as well. Give it a go!

Today’s song is; Grey Cell Green by Ned’s Atomic Dustbin.

“You’re telling me it’s in the trees, it’s not, it’s inside me now.”

The Grand Illusion

Welcome to Saturday, December 2nd which is a 6 in Numerology.

I just started using this new Tarot Deck from the artist Röhrig. These came to me in an auction and I had no clue what I was getting, but after saging them and letting them ‘settle’ I could feel my energy flowing through them as if there is a ‘truth’ to them. Being that they are new to me, and me to the tarot I will interpret the best I can.

The Seven of cups, as stated on the top of the card, Debauch. Illusory success, lying, deceit, promises unfulfilled, vanity. As we go deeper we see empty cups and a flower dying. What would create such an illusion? Combine it with the 6 vibration which wants to find balance the question comes to me as this…

Do you want to be happy or do you want to be right?

I could end this right there with that question but I will delve a little deeper. How many times have you stood behind something, believing it so much and so intently only to find out that it wasn’t what you thought it was? And how many times because of foolish pride did you still stand behind that belief? Now compound that into our society. We’ve heard this story before. One example being the ‘Hatfields and the McCoy’s’ in our U.S. History. Two families that hated each other so much, they would kill each other just for namesake. When confronted about the fight after a generation they had no idea what they were ever fighting for. Is it possible that is where we are today? Where you are today even?

Are you lying to yourself about something? Pretending and hoping that it will just go away?
So… once again, the question for today is; Do you want to be happy or do you want to be right?

Today’s song is; Grand Illusion by Styx.

“So if you think your life is complete confusion because you never win the game. Just remember that it’s a Grand Illusion and deep inside we’re all the same.”
