I've been singing since I could remember. I started out singing in Choir at church, and performing musical theater in grade school, then high school. In my high school year book it is stated that I was willing to sacrifice myself for the theater, having been stabbed [for real] in the play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. Long story. In 1970, Jesus Christ Superstar premiered. I heard Ian Gillan's voice and that was it. I had never heard a rock singer perform in a theater production and it just hit me... that is what I want to do. Years later I would be the understudy for Jesus in said play, playing Simon throughout the production. I'm kind of a late bloomer. I never sang for a rock band until I was about 23 years old. When I finished high school I immediately joined the Marines and was planning on it being a long term commitment. As fate would have it though, I got a medical discharge on my second enlistment. I got hit by a car. Another long story. Seems to be a pattern with me. So now it has been many years, many recordings, many bands and hundreds of live shows. I've honed my voice pretty well I must say. I have been blessed to have worked with some amazing musicians from across the globe, as you will hear on my ReverbNation page, with many more to come. Welcome to Tuesday, July 10th which is a 1 in Numerology.

Today’s card is the 9 of Disks.

You get what you give.

Are you waiting for something to come to you? Are you discouraged because you think you should be in a certain place in your life but you’re feeling stuck?

When you give of yourself you get back. It’s pretty simple. There’s a catch though… you can’t give expecting a return. You have to just give freely. You have to feel what it feels like when you give. It feels pretty awesome, doesn’t it?

A great training tool for this is to give to the homeless. Give someone a $1 or $10 even! As you do this listen to the judgements you make when giving it. Do you say things like, “He’s just going to go buy some booze” or “Get a job”. Notice in yourself where those judgements are coming from. Analyze it until you can give freely to one of these people and let it go. Just give for the sake of giving.

Give it a try. I dare you!

Welcome to Monday, July 9th which is a 9 in Numerology.

Today’s card is the 2 of Swords.

How many conflicts can be resolved with a smile or a hug? When we feel that we can’t, or won’t it’s because of our old fears. Hanging on to such things only keep it hanging on inside of us, not them. This past weekend we had many resolutions of this sort… or not. Depending on if you decided to give a hug or a sneer.

Let it go!

The two of swords is about peace. It’s about rising above the conflict. Usually the conflict is much bigger in our heads than anywhere else. Life is too short to hold grudges and they are too trivial anyway. As our parents would tell us about eating all of our food off of our dinner plate, “David, there are starving kids in Africa.”

Take heed to this because there are starving kids, refugees, war victims… REAL life situations that ARE life or death. Our little grudges, backstabs and hates are nothing in comparison. It’s time to look at the big picture people.

Today’s vibration of the 9 is; Universal Love, Brotherhood, completion and humanitarianism. Time for all of us to focus on the big picture. And again… let it go!

Money is not our God

Welcome to Friday, July 7th which is a 7 in Numerology.

Today’s card is the 10 of Disks.

I’ve pulled this card a lot in the last few months. This card is about manifestation and wealth. Now wealth can come in all forms.

Years ago while attending a training in San Francisco the facilitator put up a giant wheel and then sectioned it off in a number of categories. These categories were; family, friends, money, job, emotional health, tithing… but they were not limited to just those. You basically focused on the areas that you were not ‘wealthy’ in. True wealth is having all of those areas balanced. If they are not you are basically, well, bankrupt.

We tend to focus on only certain areas of our lives, and they are usually the things we are good at but to achieve this complete and total wealthy life we must concentrate on the areas that we are not good at. Am I saying to throw aside what we are good at? Not at all… use that area as a catapult for the areas that you are not. Start looking for the similarities and apply those similarities.

It’s not an easy thing to do. Believe me, I’ve had in my head most of my life that wealth is how much you have in the bank. It’s a mentality that was carried on through my childhood and there are still traces of this in my life today.

Today’s energy of the 7 is that of the non-conformist. It is telling us to find our own truth and not to buy into the rich, poor, middleclass, wealthy bullshit paradigm. Concentrate on your own wealth of self and you will be richer than Bill Gates.

Born Again

Welcome to Friday, July 6th which is a 6 in Numerology.

Today’s card is the Sun.

The Sun gives light to everything, even in the darkness there is light. At night the sun shines on the moon which lights the sky. There is light in everything, even you. When it seems that you are only darkness and depression there is still a glimmer of hope in there, like roots coming through a crack in the pavement. It has its way of breaking through.

Today, see the light in everyone and everything and know that we were all born the same. Can you look at a baby and see darkness? Remind yourself that you and others around you are still that newborn ready for a glorious and amazing adventure ahead of you.

Sometimes we all feel like the light will never come back, that everything is hopeless and will never change. The beauty and tragedy of living in this plane, this earth, is that change is forever the only constant.

Any struggle that I’ve ever gone through I’ve maintained a mantra of ‘this too will pass’ and that if I just kept saying that over and over eventually it will indeed pass.

Another beautiful thing about this life is that we too are forever changing. We are not who we were 10 years ago. It’s a known fact that our brains regrow, colon cells refresh in 4 days, we get a new skin every 2-3 weeks, white blood cells take a little more than a year to regenerate and even our skeletal system at an average of 10 years.

Why do we not allow ourselves to change in our minds? Why do we get stuck when the rest of our system becomes anew? Something to ponder.

Judge Not

Welcome to Thursday, July 5th which is a 5 in Numerology.

Today’s card is Justice.

Yesterday we talked about our intuition. We know that following our intuition is of utmost importance. We also need to take stock in justice. Justice means that we need to take ourselves accountable for our actions. You can call this Karma.

What habits or behaviors do you have that you blame on others? Maybe you blame your DNA or past relationships for the way you are?

I have a question for you. How do you expect to change if somebody else is holding that umbrella over your head? Wouldn’t it be much better in the long run if you looked in the mirror? I know looking in the mirror is very difficult. Believe me, I’ve been looking at myself for quite a while and there are times that I don’t like what I see.

People ask me why I do Ayahuasca journey’s, or MDMA, Reiki, meditation retreats and the like… well, I want to be able to look in the mirror and say, “I love you” with zero reservations. I want to be able to love my partner, my family, and myself unconditionally. I’m not saying that you have to do all of the above that I have done, but I’m also ‘not’ saying that you shouldn’t either. Think of those things as a fast track through therapy. How many of you go to a therapist? Why do you go to a therapist?

Because you want to be able to look at your true self in the mirror and say, “I love you”.

With todays energy of the 5; Independence, free-thinking, fast moving, and foot-loose it is giving us a hint that we are WAY more powerful than we give ourselves credit for.

Intuition

Welcome to Wednesday, July 4th which is a 22 in Numerology.

Today’s card is the 8 of Wands.

What does your intuition tell you? Do you listen to it that often or are you very structured in your day to day life?

If you are structured, today might be a great day to start following what your gut is telling you. Do you normally take the same route to work? Turn off your GPS and let your gut guide you.

Yesterday my gut told me to go to a place I haven’t been in a while so I went with the flow and I was pleasantly surprised to run into a friend and also find something that I needed. I know that is very vague but I don’t want you to get caught up in the details. The important lesson for this is that your intuition must be followed. Start trusting it if you haven’t before.

Today is a magical day because it’s a 22. 22 is a Master Number. It is the Master Teacher. It’s telling us that once we start following our heart we can lead people to a new understanding.

Again… follow your gut today and see what shows up for you. Any problems or conflicts that you’ve had will wash away once you realize the magic of the intuition.

Welcome to Tuesday, July 3rd which is a 3 in Numerology.

Today’s card is the 2 of Cups.

The 2 of Cups is about Love. It’s about self-love and the love for others.

Our society frowns on self-love. We tend to look at it as selfishness or narcissism. Selfishness and narcissism is not self-love. It’s insecurity. It’s saying to people, “Pay attention to me. Look at me. Worship me.” All because of our own self-loathing where we don’t have to look at ourselves too deeply. Self-love is saying that you have the capacity to love everyone without judgement, without conditions because you accept yourself the same.

Have you ever fallen in love with someone only to start hating them after a period of time? I have. Because of my own self-loathing I would seek out what was missing in me and put that person on a pedestal but the only problem with that is that they will never live up to what you’ve set them up to be in your mind.

When you start to love yourself the people you attract will be on the same vibration that you are and you will find that you will no longer ‘need’ anybody. ‘Need’ing is saying that you don’t have something. It took me a long time, but I think I’ve got it right now.

Today’s energy of the 3 is the vibration of friendship, force and sacrifice for mankind. It’s about attaining inner peace so that you can grow and expand your energy to start attracting what you desire into your life instead of attracting what you think you need.
