Thanksgiving carries a lot. Gratitude, connection,

Thanksgiving carries a lot.
Gratitude, connection, family… and also a history that asks us to pause, listen, and honor the truth that Native communities have carried for generations.

For me, respect and awareness belong at the table
just as much as the food.

Today, I’m grateful for the road behind me
and the road ahead. For the music that kept me alive more times than I can count.

For the people who show up to listen, sing, and share a moment where the noise of the world finally quiets down.

And for the Indigenous cultures whose wisdom, strength, and connection to the land deserve more light than this world often gives them.

I’m looking forward to stepping into 2026 with that same spirit —
bringing music, stories, and heart to every room I play. There are shows already lined up, more being added, and I can’t wait to see old faces and meet new ones along the way. Every gig feels like a small way to give back: a space to breathe, to feel something real, and to be reminded that connection still matters.

So today I give thanks — not just for what I have,
but for the people and cultures who remind us what resilience, truth, and spirit look like.

Wherever you are today, may your gratitude be honest, your heart be open, and your path be guided by something deeper than the noise.

Happy Thanksgiving — from the heart, with respect, and with so much to look forward to in the coming year.

Yesterday was one for the books.
@jeff_outlaw and I drove 5 hours to Cottonwood, AZ to play a benefit show for our friends @devin.w.walker and @mkubi68 .

I’m sitting there before the show, drinking this non-alcoholic Wild Tonic — the label literally says “Bee wild inside” and “Bee’s Knees,” bragging about supporting bees with real honey.

Michelle asks me, “Are you allergic to anything?” (Mind you... this was a totally random question. She didn't see the bee go into my drink.)
I answer, “No.”

I take a sip…
There’s a bee in my drink.
It stings my lip.
Instant cartoon.

To top it off, they dressed their pugs as BEES that morning. The foreshadowing was real.

So yeah… the gig still went on. The lip blew up overnight.

Sometimes the universe gives you a story you could never write yourself.

Moral of the story:
Always check the drink. Especially when the can dares the bees to get inside. 🐝🤦‍♂️
